So my wife and I are car shopping. She wants a few things that make me love her : Stickshift, hatchback, and sunroof for under $15k. That means we're looking at a lot of used Minis, Golfs, GTIs, and Fiat 500s. And when I plugged "hatchback, manual, under $15k, and Sunroof" into Autotrader, this is one of the results:

The MS3s and WRXs in our price range tend to be "Rode hard and put up wet." Seriously any Mazda 3 we've seen with three pedals has been over 100k miles and with suspicious wear on the tires, brakes, steering wheel, and pedals. WRXs are about the same. The Lancer is ridiculously hard to find at all, even though we love the way it looks. There is an 09 Cooper S we'tee going to see later today. Gray with gray and black interior and panoramic roof... it is a maybe.
